A blend of old and new.

Singapore, August 23rd 2011

Although Singapore isn't really my type of interest, Singapore IS interesting. It's a colorful city, and country.

The famous Orchard Road where most tourists (but not all travelers) flock to.

I didn't know that almond juice existed. While waiting for my "Singapore Hop-on Hop-off Bus" to come, I drank this at the bus-stop while watching Singporean cars and buses pass by. The story about this waiting for the right bus for approximately half an hour I have already told in my previous post.

A blend of old and new.

Old but too well maintained, that it almost looked to me like the "Kota Wisata" in Cibubur (Indonesia).

The architecture of this building reminds me of Sultan Abdul Samad Building in front of Merdeka Square in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

This is the side view. I shot this during my ride on the bus.

I somehow think, in Singapore there's more space for tourists than for locals. Flats like this is a common sight. Ah... even to dry clothes, you have to "add color" to your flat/apartment.

Now, this is really, really, colorful. This is the MICA (Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts) Building. It has 911 windows, our tour guide mentioned. This building originally was "Old Hill Street Police Station" which was the first site of Singapore's jail. I can't imagined detained in such a colorful place. Would the days in jail turn as colorful?

A similar advertisement as the one I spotted in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It's a reflection of the diversity of the country. I shot this as a reflection of my envy -- just like when I did in KL.

An architecture design I had seen in Kuala Lumpur also: Royal Selangor Club.

This is a church. I just like the architecture design.
